Specialty courses

OCIGK specialty courses are for experienced students who wish to expand their knowledge and experience beyond what they may learn from standard classes. These specialty courses test the students both physically and mentally while giving them a higher level of comprehension in training and self defense.

DYnamic Kicking
Dynamic Kicking assists in expanding students' knowledge in strikes through kicks by covering a large and versatile base of higher ability. This course focuses on advancement in kicking quality via combinations, foot movements, advanced techniques, and an the integration of plyometrics into one's training.

Hojo undō training
Hojo undō can be translated from Japanese as "supplementary exercises", which is the role such courses play in terms of physical conditioning. This training covers a wide range of weight-based exercises alongside resistance.
Hojo undō training occurs on the third Saturday of each month, at the Deerfield Community Center in Irvine. Hojo undo training is part of the black belt curriculum and is available to adult green belts and higher as a separate registration.
