    Six Basic Kicks
    The following are the six basic kicks that are practice during warm-ups. They are also a part of the kicking kata. Format below is
    the Japanese name, English translation, and Japanese pronunciation. They are listed in the same order in which we practice.


    1.    Kogan Geri - Groin kick (Koh-gahn Ge-ri)
    2.    Mae Geri – Front instep kick (Ma-eh Ge-ri)
    3.    Kansetsu Geri – 45 degree kick (Kan-se-tsu Ge-ri)
    4.    Yoko Geri – Side kick (Yo-ko Ge-ri)
    5.    Mawashi Geri – Rounhouse kick (Ma-wa-shi Ge-ri)
    6.    Goju Mawashi Geri – Goju Roundhouse kick
