November 10, 2011 - End-of Year Celebration at Deerfield Community Center This is our annual potluck and demonstration for all students from all classes and their families and friends. Details will be passed out separately.

- Thursday 12/29/2011 - No Classes (5th Thursday of month)
- Saturday 12/31/2011 - No Classes(5th Saturday of month)
- Wednesday 1/4/2011 - Regular class schedules resume
Thursday Classes Will Continue at Woodbury Thursday classes will continue to be at the Woodbury location indefinitely. Students will be given notice when we change back to Northwood.
October 1st, 2011, 12-12:30pm - Irvine Global Village Festival, OCIGK Karate Demonstration
The OCIGK karate school will be performing a karate demonstration at the Irvine Global Village Festival on October 1, 2011 at Bill Barber Park in Irvine from 12:00-12:30pm.
Irvine Global Village Karate Demonstration Saturday, October 1st, 2011 Bill Barber Park, Irvine 4 Civic Center Plaza (Located at the corner of Barranca Parkway and Harvard.)
- Performance Time: 12:00-12:30pm
- Arrival Time: 60 min prior (Allow 30 minutes to park and find the stage). We will be gathering
near the stage for demo preparation.
- Attire: White gi for students. Black gi for Senseis
Demo practices have been going extremely well and we are well on our way to a great demonstration. Here are the remaining demo practice sessions:
- Sat, September 24th from 10-11 A.M.
- Wed, September 28th from 7-8 P.M. (Final rehearsal)
Please bring family and friends to come support us at the demo. The Irvine Global Village Festival is Irvine's largest festival and this year marks it's 10 year anniversary. For more information on the festival, click on the festival logo above.

IMPORTANT - Thursday Class Location Change - Starting July 7th Effective July 7th, all Thursday classes will be held at the Woodbury Facility located at 130 Sanctuary (949) 724-6840. This change will remain in effect indefinitely. Again Thursday classes on July 7th and later will be at the Woodbury Facility.
Saturday May 14th, Deerfield - Spring 2011 Intra-School Karate Tournament Mark your calendars for the Spring 2011 OCIGK intra-school tournament. This is open to all registered OCIGK students. Participation is highly encouraged as competition is a critical part of our student's development and it represents an excellent opportunity to focus on our martial arts preparedness. The tournament will consist of kata and sparring competitions.
Registration forms will be distributed in class in the near future.
End-of-Year Potluck - A Success! Thank you to all those who contributed to the End of Year Potluck. The food and fellowship was without equal. We truly appreciate your generosity and your support of our school. A special thank you to those parents who helped with set up and clean up.

Wednesday, November 3rd , 6:30-7:30pm - Extra Tournament Practice Extra tournament practice will be held at the Deerfield dojo on Wed, Nov 3rd from 6:30-7:30pm.
Saturday November 6th, Deerfield - OCIGK Intra-School Tournament Save the date for the OCIGK intra-school tournament. This is open to all registered OCIGK students. Participation is highly encouraged as competition is a critical part of our student's learning and development. The tournament will consist of kata and sparring competitions.
NO CLASS - Saturday, October 30th There is no class Saturday October 30th due to a 5 week month in October.
Saturday October 23, 1-5pm - Instructor Workshop (Black belt instructors only) On Sat, Oct 23rd from 1-5pm, we will be hosting the 2010 OCIGK instructor workshop at the Deerfield dojo. All black belt instructors should attend this session. The workshop will be followed by a dinner.
- Wear your gi and bring street clothes for dinner afterwards
- Bring a notebook, pen, and if applicable, your instructor handbook
- Full agenda will be handed out that day
